ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Scott Richards, founder of Slightly Choppy, is a painter, collector, designer, and surfer based in Newport Beach, CA. Growing up near Detroit, he surfed the Great Lakes and drew inspiration from factories, barges, and rocky shorelines. Surf culture led him to California, where he documented the scene and served as Creative Director for Quiksilver and Stance. His work has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Honolulu, Tokyo, Sydney, Paris, and Barcelona. A student of art history and graphic design, Scott is influenced by hand-drawn typography, bold colors, natural textures, and global environments, particularly hand-painted signage in developing regions.

Jason Sperling is Chief Creative Officer at INNOCEAN, known for creating iconic work for brands like Apple, Honda, TikTok, Amazon, Disney Pixar, and UNICEF Worldwide. He led the Apple “Mac vs. PC” campaign, named “Campaign of the Decade” by Adweek. A Cannes Gold Lion winner and Emmy nominee, Jason has crafted campaigns that impact culture and the world. He has also authored two books—one on creative leadership and another on building brand attraction in an era of brand aversion.
